Description:
NSN, approximately .44 cal., 40 1/2" swamped barrel with a dark, pitted bore. The metal of this attractive looking rifle has turned to an overall dark, plum-brown patina, and also exhibits scattered areas of pinprick pitting, most noticeably around the nipple and squared drum at the breech. The tang is cracked at the screw. The back-action lock has double-set triggers, and is functional with some sparse engraving and a "99 MERCHANTS ROW" marking. The dark, pin-fastened stock has numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout, while the brass furniture has turned to a muddy brown-ochre patina over time. This is a handsome gun for display, and would make a great accent piece for a rustic-themed living room, den, or office. Antique
