Description: Serial #353766, .30-40 Krag, 22" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has a small amount of freckling within the grooves at the breech and one erosion toward the muzzle. This carbine retains 85-90% of the original blue finish on the barrel, band, and buttplate, with minor silvering at the muzzle, magazine cover, trigger guard bow, and sheet metal front sight protector. The balance of the metal has a uniform mottled gray patina with some hints of muted color case-hardening still visible on the safety. The extractor retains 95-97% of its original brilliant niter blue finish and the bolt, finished armory bright, has mild freckling while retaining much of the original blue on the shroud. The walnut stock and handguard are likewise in fine condition with small handling marks and minor scuffs scattered about the original oil finish (including a fairly large surface chip at the buttplate tang). The left side of the wrist has a crisp "JSA/1901" cartouche and "P" proof on the underside. This is a splendid '99 Krag carbine in fine overall condition with lots of the original finish remaining.
