Description:
Serial #15036, .22 Short or Long, 24" barrel with a fair, lightly pitted bore. This 1892 manufactured rifle features a checkered forend, Beach front sight, octagon barrel, and tang-mounted Colt peep sight. The receiver remains in very good condition with about 25-30% original blue remaining, the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown patina, and a barely visible Rampant Colt on the left side. The barrel and magazine tube are mostly a freckled plum-brown color as well, as are the hammer and trigger. The stock and forend have numerous minor handling marks in the original varnish finish, as well as a hairline crack at the nose of the forend. This is a good example of a small frame Lightning with a desirable original Colt peep sight. Antique
