Description:
This is a handsome bayonet that measures 20 1/2" overall, with an 18" angular blade having a single, wide fuller, and ground back-flutes. The steel has an overall bright pewter patina with some thin freckling scattered about. The "U.S." marking is crisp and clear on the ricasso. This is an excellent example of the first US bayonet to be equipped with a locking ring, and would make a fine addition to any collection.
