Description:
Winchester Model 70. SN# 259259. Made in 1953. Up for sale is a very clean Winchester Model 70 chambered in the popular 30/06 cartridge. This early high comb version of the pre-64 Model 70 is equpped with the accurate 24" barrel and a Redfield sight blank installed in the rear sight slot. The milled front sight is all original and complete with factory sight blade and hood. All stock and metal finish is factory original with wood showing some slight handling marks and in picture 5 you will see some minor blue wear on the sharp edge of the barrel muzzle. This wear comes from the rifle being stored in a canvas gun case for most of 50 years. The cut rifling in the barrel is sharp and shows no wear. Magazine metal and steel checkered buttplate are very clean, There are three holes on the rear part of the action bridge. Add 45.00 freight and insurance. No Calif. buyers please.
