This is from a friend’s estate I am liquidating and he purchased it from a one of Spokane’s old German gunsmiths’ estate. The drilling was sold as a Stogos but couldn’t find the markings but the Luft Brothers were well known gunsmiths and collectors in Spokane, WA so I am selling it as though they knew way more than me. Regardless this is a extra fine drilling with all the bells and whistles and a nice handmade wood case.
Cocking indicators, horn trigger guard & butt plate, beautifully engraved (see pictures), auto flip-up front sight, scalloped receiver & sling swivels. This drilling locks up real tight and has side clips, rib extension, double locking lugs and cross bolt with Greener safety. The LOP is 14 1/8” and weighs 6# 13oz the 2 ½ chambers have been opened 2 ¾ and reproofed with N and choked F & F. I will not try to describe the beautiful engraving and let the pictures show it. Notice the screws do not look as though they have been touched and the checkering shows no wear but the wood does have some dings and scratches, the metal is very nice with strong and the barrels show just a little bluing missing from a slipping into a gun case.
