Description:
More photos available upon request! This is an exceptional true pair of Colt Model 1851 Navy Revolvers. These revolvers feature the early style of Colt factory engraving known as the "donut scroll" or "cloud". The Colts are housed in an authentic Colt double casing, the case is in excellent condition. The case is very solid, the lining is very good. Original accesories included are an exceptional conditioned flask, cap tin, proper early style brass bullet mold, nipple wrench, and two original cartridge boxes. The original key is retained. All accesories are original and authentic and mostly in high condition. The two Colts are very fine overall, #12153 is very fine with approximately 50-60% barrel blue. The case colors have silvered out on the frame and hammer. The cylinder has an excellent scene. Grip is near mint. Nearly all the original silver remains on the trigger guard and backstrap. All matching numbers. Mechanically excellent. #12155 is also extremely fine with approximately 60-65% blue on the barrel, silvered out case colors on the frame and hammer. The cylinder scene is partially worn and shows approximately 30-40% particulary around the serial number stamp. Grip is near mint. Nearly all the original silver remains on the trigger guard and backstrap. Blued loading lever,(unsure when that was done). All matching numbers. Mechanically excellent. Both of these revolvers are nearly identical in condition. They have a slight different pattern of engraving. These could have been engraved by John Barlow. It is extremely uncommon to find a true pair of early Colt Revolvers, normally when you do find a pair, they are engraved by Gustave Young and later guns. This set would be a phenomenal addition to any Colt collection! Shipping by either UPS overnight or 2nd day air. Thanks! I will entertain offers or trades of Colts!
