Description:
Excellent, Good working .50 cal Thompson Center Hawken rifle, with serial #217705, .50 cal., 29” octagon barrel with a bright excellent, shiny, rifled bore. The metal surfaces retain about 96% original blue. The mountings are mostly bright with a few light handling marks on the buttplate while the nosecap and wedge and lock screw escutcheons are an attractive goldenrod patina. The lock retains nearly all its original case-hardened colors with some light oxidation staining on the hammer head while the lovely American walnut halfstock with right-handed cheekpiece rates very fine to perhaps excellent with a few scattered very light handling marks, and around the patch box is exhibition crotch grain walnut. The original sights and brass-tipped ramrod are intact and the double set triggers and action appear to function well mechanically. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
