Jacob Sheetz, Hampshire Co, Upper Shenandoah Mountains, West Virginia 1840-1845, This is a nice example of a Jacob Sheetz Rifle. Beautiful decorated brass patchbox. Has a 37 1/2 inch barrel, looks to be a 36 caliber or there abouts, with a descent bore with visible rifling. Double set trigger action functions properly. The rifle is approximately 53 inches long.
