*sold pending approval of buyer*An amazing example of Lancaster's famous oval bore rifling, marked "smooth rifle" on the barrel. Built in 1856 and it appears the rifle has not seen much use in its life as it remains in stunning original condition today. Its original mold casts a 415 gr bullet and takes a charge of 3 drams of powder. It is sighted with a single standing leave and two folding leaves marked 150 and 250 as well as a tangent sight graduated out to 800 yards. Cased with a stunning assortment of original accessories including bullet nold, ram rod as well as range rod, wad cutter, powder flask, mainspring cramp, sling, oil bottle, tool kit including spare lock screw. Superb condition through by one of the finest London gunmakers of the period.
