We offer you a “Gorgeous” Winchester Deluxe Model 1885 High Wall Rifle Chambered in .38-55 with a #4 Heavy Barrel with “DST’ Double Set Triggers and was completed in 1913.
This Deluxe Model 1885 Winchester wears a 29 inch full octagon heavy barrel, with a Redfield globe front, spirit level in the rear rifle dovetail and a Lyman No. 103 windage adjustable tang sight. The sight is in excellent working condition with no issues. The bore on the rifle is in excellent condition with no issues. The bluing on the barrel and receiver are both in fine condition. Both stocks are in very fine condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. The butt plate case colors are excellent as it appears to have been restored at some point in the past. The double set triggers function just as they should and the action is tight. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER 7. 1879.” The underside of the barrel at the front of the forend is marked “4”. The top of the barrel at the receiver and the receiver ring are marked with a circled “WP” proof. The left shoulder at the receiver is marked “38-55”. The upper tang is marked “REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF. / WINCHESTER / ----TRADE MARK----”. The lower tang is marked “113991”. The other markings are shown in the pictures.
