Alfred Field 12ga Boxlock Ejector Crown Grade. Serial no. 4690 Circa 1892 SOLD pending funds 1/24/22
Built to what was likely Waterfowl specifications with stout action dimensions, 3" chambers proved for 1 1/2oz loads, raised file cut rib on 27 1/2" bbls, side clips and multiple bites, A bit unique in that most fowlers lacked extensive engraving yet this one is near full coverage and bears a gold crown on the top lever. A bit of a mystery but it presents and shoots beautifully.
While not marked as such, this gun was undoubtedly made for resale and the action closely mimics Greener's design sans an identical cross bolt.
This would make a wonderful clay target gun along with nearly all bird hunting endeavors. Barrels both measure .785 in both, choked R .017 (light modified) L .023 (improved modified)

Stock dimensions are 15" to the center of a leather recoil pad. 1 1/2" drop at comb and 2 1/4" at heel. Cast-off 1/8" for a right handed shooter. Overall weight 7lbs, 6oz.
