Description:
Marlin 1881 lever action rifle in 45-70 caliber. Factory Ulrich engraved. Deluxe S shaped pistol grip stock with wood thaat appears to be European walnut, and deluxe factory checkering. correct tang sight for this era of gun, as well as original front and rear barrel sights. Receicer and forend cap are mostly silver/brown with light frosting/pitting from age. Barrel and magazine tube have aproximatly 50% original blue with light frosting/pitting on the exterior surfaces, the bore is quite brite and strong with no major pitting the grooves and lands look very good. The stock and forearm are solid but show assorted dents and scratches from honest use, and there is a worn spot on the bottom of the forearm where it may well have been carried across a saddle for many hours. an honest quality old rifle at a fair price.
