Description:
This Remington Rolling Block Cadet Rifle was manufactured using a Remington 1867 pistol action. The rifle was known as the Pistol-framed Cadet Rifle. It was chambered in .50 Remington Pistol Centerfire. It was intended for sale to many military schools and boys cadet corps.
According to Flayderman’s Guide to Antique American Firearms, only about 1,000 of these cadet rifles were produced by Hartley & Co. of New York. Their advertising referred to these cadet rifles as REMINGTON CADET RIFLE NO. 205”
Our local gun historian reviewed the gun and said it was very nice.
The gun is missing a screw that fasterns the stock to the receiver.
