This Colt Single Action Army Bisley was manufactured in 1907. It is chambered in 38 WCF (38-40). It has the original hard rubber Colt grips which are also in excellent condition. The bore is in very good condition with strong rifling and light pitting. Nice original patina that has not been messed with. A local gunsmith inspected the revolver in 2015 and noted that it was in good working order and capable of firing light modern (cowboy) loads. The initials of the original owner are engraved on the butt of the grip frame.
The family letter detailing the history of the gun will be included with the purchase. According to the letter, it was carried by an American soldier in WWI service. The soldier lost his leg in combat. The gun has been handed down through his family since 1925. We acquired the revolver when the heir became prohibited from owning fireams.
