Description:
Thomas Allison (1786-1836). gunsmith. Thomas Allison was a major western Pennsylvania gunsmith. tax lists suggest that he remained in Peters Township through 1818. From 1819 through 1836 he was listed on the tax rolls of New Sewickley, Beaver County. He lived and worked in New Sewickley Township as a gunsmith till his death in 1836.  This rifle shows a beautifully decorated brass patchbox. The barrel is 38 3/4 inch approximately and overall 55 inches long.  Good bore with visible rifling, 44 caliber or there abouts, double set trigger functions properly.
