Description:
Made in 1891, this Winchester 1873 is in its original configuration with octagon barrel in .38 caliber and plain trigger. Two-line address/patent dates marking and "38 WCF". The 3rd model receiver features an integral dust cover guide rail, dust cover with rear serrations, and "step" at the junction with the barrel as found on rifles chambered for .22, .32, and .38 calibers. The finish is in fine condition retaining 30% of the original finish on the barrel and magazine and 60% on the receiver, with a balance of smooth brown patina. Slight traces of original nitre blue loading gate. Wood only has few handling marks and rifle is mechanically excellent. SN: 384815B .38 WCF
