Description:
The Model 1884 Springfield incorporated several improvements over the !873 Model. The most significant being the Buffington sight. This was a rack and pinion windage adjustment style and raised leaf for elevation. .45-70 Government

Metal Condition: Retains some original finish though fading to a plum/grey patina. A little rust pitting on the butt plate. All stampings are clearly visible.
Wood Condition: "Various scratches, dings and gouges throughout however, no visible cracks. Crisp cartouche (SWP / 1888) of Springfield Master Armorer 'Samuel W. Porter' on the left side of the stock.
Bore Condition: Bright with exceptionally sharp rifling
Barrels: 32 1/2" Round
Triggers: Serrated and checkered
