Description:
24 inch octagon barrel with strong rifling in a bright and shiny very good plus bore. Barrel retains about 90% original blue with a couple very small areas of light pitting and minimal light freckling. The frame retains about 85% darkening case-hardened colors with muting on lower tang. The hammer, breechblock and trigger retain about 95% original blue. The buttplate retains a decent amount of case-hardened colors. Smooth walnut buttstock and schnabel forend with ebony insert remain in very good plus condition nearly all original varnish with scattered light handling marks. Sights include a Lyman tang peep sight and Marble Improved model front sight with damage to the bead. The rear sight boss is filled with a blank and there is some kind of period sight base neatly dovetailed into the top of the frame.
