Colt Dragoon Revolver-3rd Model bearing the serial #12,517 (all matching serial numbers) in .44 caliber percussion. Pistol presents a 7.5" partial octagonal to round barrel. Top of barrel present one-line stamping "ADDRESS SAML COLT, NEW-YORK CITY". with left side of frame stamped "COLTS/PATENT/US" in three lines. The cylinder is engraved with the Texas Ranger and Indian battle scene and "MODEL U.S.M.R." and "COLT'S PATENT". Serial number indicates that this pistol was manufactured in 1853. This Colt Dragoon has a really nice uncleaned as carried look . End of the barrel has a good honest holster wear from be carried . The grips are wonderful and almost molded to this pistol and also show good honest use from many years of carry. If you want a nice honest all matching original surface this is it. Cylinder scene can be seen but is light as many are . The Colt Dragoon also has a cool rear sight modification that the owner had done back in the day. All brass fittings has a nice pleasing uncleaned patina that I really like. Nice early Colt pistols like this one is also a great investment as they only climb in value over time .
