Here is a solid old Winchester in somewhat rare configuration, a musket. Caliber is .44-40. The story I hear is that these were sold to Central and South American governments. The United States did not purchase any. The gun presents a pleasing appearance with no rust or pitting on the metal and the stock retaining most of its original finish. No serious dings or dents and no cracks in the wood. The bore is probably a 6 on a 1-10 scale with good rifling but some roughness throughout. I think it would shoot fine but all guns of this vintage should be checked by a competent gunsmith before firing. 30" round barrel complete with bayonet lug. Trapdoor in butt but, alas, no cleaning rod. $50 shipping and insurance to your ffl or C&R. A nice old Winchester that needs no alibis. Layaway available.
