Here is a handsome William Ford 12 gauge boxlock ejector, built circa 1902. The 29" barrels have 2 1/2" chambers and very good bores, choked .004/.026 (approximately skeet/improved modified.) The tubes are engraved: 'WILLIAM FORD. 15 ST. MARY'S ROW. BIRMINGHAM. (The lettering is very faint.) The action features the maker's name surrounded by excellent acanthus scroll with a beaded border. The beautifully carved fences have a foliate motif. The gun has intercepting sears. The fore-end has an Anson push-rod release. The figured stock has checkered side-panels, and measures 1 5//8" x 2 1/2" x 14 5/8" with very slight cast on. The weight is only 6 lbs 4 oz. Comes in a well-used but very serviceable brass-cornered leather case. A great little bird gun.
