V.CHR. Schilling Suhl. 50 Cal. High-quality percussion cap and ball Jaeger Rifle. Made in the 19th Century. Makers name and city inlayed in the gold on the rib. 30 9/16 barrels, set trigger, adjustable from and rear side, halfcocked safety. 14 ¼ pull to steel buttplate. Nicely done steel insert in stock for proper balance. Forearm finger location. Comb 1” heel drop 2” no cast on or off. 7 Lbs. 0 oz, Serial # stamped on the buttplate and ramrod. Serial # for the barrel is on the bottom of the barrel. Wood and metal finish is all original. V. CHR. Schilling founded in 1816 V. CHR stands for Valentin Christian Schilling. This is a a very high quality Jager rifle in very likeable caliber. Private collection for forty years, see photos.
