Description:
Made on a #2 frame with 30" barrels, this is a fairly common configuration but in extremely rare near mint original condition. The gun with full pistol grip buttstock, original lined buttplate, unengraved case hardened frame. Fairly common configuration with nearly 12,000 made, but impossible to find in this condition!
This gun remains in "test fired only" type condition with virtually all of its bold original case color. Barrels are excellent with more than 98% original blue. Stocks are sound with more than 97% original stock finish with a few scattered handling marks. The gun shows more closet wear, likely having spent most of its life in a closet and certainly not in the field or on the range. Bores are brilliant and shiny and mechanics are crisp. Gun is tight as expected on a near unfired gun. Absolutely a beautiful original gun.
This gun would make a great "reference gun" for a beginning collector to use to compare other guns to.
