Description:
The Illinois Sesquicentennial Winchester Model 94 carbine with saddle ring in .30-30 Win was released in 1968 to celebrate the 150th year of Illinois' statehood. The rifle features a 20" round blued barrel chambered in .30-30 Winchester caliber. The barrel is fit with a hooded front sight and adjustable rear. The left of the barrel near the receiver is marked "Winchester Trade Mark — Model 94 — 30-30 WIN Winchester Proof Steel — Made in the U.S.A." The right side of the barrel has gilt lettering reading "Illinois Sesquicentennial 1818-1968." The saddle ring, hammer and loading port all feature a gold finish. The left of the receiver has an engraved silhouette of President Lincoln and reads "Land of Lincoln." This rifle is more of a "shooter" than a "collector" because a previous owner has etched a Social Security Number on the bottom tang, even though the rifle appears to have never been shot. See photo.
