This Smith & Wesson Model 37 has no change number. This pistol was produced around 1957. This Light weight model 37 Chief's Special is identical to the steel frame Model 36 Chief's Special just much lighter to carry! The pistol's serial number is 277120. It has the standard 2 inch barrel chambered for the 38 Special cartridge. The bore and chambers are in minty condition. This Smith & Wesson shows no real sign of being used. As usual there is a slight drag line between the cylinder stops. The original bluing would rate a 98% or better overall condition. The color cased hammer and trigger have strong colors with no wear to the surface. The original grips have the correct diamond checkered pattern around the grip screw area. The original box, being serial numbered to this pistol is in very fine condition! The end labels are intact with no loss. The original cleaning rod and screw driver is still in the box. The original instruction sheet and wrapping paper is also in the box. This is a very fine highly collectable early Smith & Wesson in great condition! This pistol will show well in any collection!
