Description:
26 inch octagon barrel. The very good bore is near bright showing some scattered light pitting and strong rifling throughout. The barrel shows strong E. Remington & Sons address and “44W” cartridge designation. It has mostly toned to a deep plum-brown patina showing some scattered light handling marks. The action retains about 85% vibrant case-hardened colors with muting to a mottled appearance along the tangs and some staining and pinprick pitting here and there. Smooth walnut stocks remain in very good plus condition with just light dings and a steel Schnabel fore end cap. Original sporting rear sight and German silver blade front sight. This is a very nice No. 2 chambered for a desirable centerfire cartridge.
