We present for your consideration a very nice Winchester model 1892 , chambered in .44 W.C.F..
This collectable used rifle features the 24 inch round barrel, and a 1905 year of manufacture. The Model 1892 was another fine John M. Browning design.
As expected for a rifle of this age the wood and finish condition do have some wear, and can be seen in the photos, the walnut wood is beautiful and solid with some blemishes mainly on the stock, the lever action slides out smoothly and locks back up nicely, and the bore is clean with good rifling.
Overall condition on this rifle is good for its age.
The top barrel flat is roll-stamped: "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER 14. 1884." in two lines ahead of the rear sight.
The caliber "44 W.C.F." is stamped on the top barrel flat between the rear sight and the receiver. The upper receiver tang is roll stamped: "MODEL 1892/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK" in three lines.
The history of this particularly rifle is largely unknown, but one can imagine what it has seen through the years; what a special rifle to own or add to your collection.
Winchester is truly the iconic Cowboy gun and such a historically prominent rifle, and just a genuinely nice piece to add to your collection.
