U.S. Pattern 1886 US Belt Plate & Mills Woven Belt, Watervliet Arsenal This is a guaranteed original “Whittemore,” Watervliet Arsenal manufactured US Plate. THIS IS NOT one of those bogus “H” plates often seen on eBay being sold as original. The Pattern 1886 or “Whittemore Plate” was made at the Watervliet Arsenal starting in 1886. Designed by Lt. Colonel James Whittemore, Command of the Watervliet Arsenal. The woven dark blue Mills manufactured single row cartridge belt (.45-70) is late 1890’s. Complete with all original brass fittings. The belt and plate appear to be in unissued condition. Just a real nice late Indian Wars-Span Am War cartridge belt. You won’t be disappointed in this belt. Displays beautifully!
