I built a few "steel plate" revolvers as we had a league in Western MA ...
Pins one weekend ...plates the next...
I started off with a Douglas barrel blank....1.250..turned to 1.00
slab sided it....built in the comp....built the underlug and installed all...
Some had a ball detent in the yoke other I installed a detent in the underlug to push towards
the yoke....
Action was tuned...cylinders were chamfered...trigger was rounded,smoothed,polished,
and a trigger over stop was added....
Some revolvers I added a set screw for the main strain screw...the owner that way could "tweak"
the poundage of the trigger pull..then set the screw and be sure the strain screw was not going to move..
The barrel was a 1-14 twist....11 degree forcing cone...B/C was set at .005 +/-....
Set-up this way the revolvers would print quarter size groups at 25 yds from a Ransom rest...
This would have been built around the early 90's when I was in MA....
it's a bead blast blue finish with lettering. Very few of my guns ever change hands.
