Description:
This Colt Lightning is a somewhat unique piece, marked on the trigger guard “City Columbia South Carolina”. The marking is attributed to being a Police marking and is very similar to other police markings. I can’t locate any other Colt Lightnings with similar markings. The Colt itself shows a nice natural appearance. The finish has drifted to a patina. The left side frame has a nice silver patina with the right side of the frame has a little bit of case colors showing through the silver. The barrel shows approximately 30% original blue. .38cal. Original grips in excellent condition. All matching numbers. Manufactured in 1898. Mechanically needs help; Sometimes works in single action but does not work in double action.
