Description:
Effectively a .500 S&W Special, the .500 JRH was developed by gun builder Jack Huntington to fit the Freedom Arms 83 revolver. Factory loads are few and far between with Buffalo Bore being the largest manufacturer. Loads typically range between 350-440 gr and 975-1350fps, hand loads can obtain higher velocities dependent on the particular gun they are fired from. Brass is available from Starline and can be made from .500 S&W brass. This would make an excellent choice for a big game handgun hunter or someone who is looking for a big bore bear country sidearm. .500 JRH
