"Made in 1888 – 1889. 44-40 caliber with a 5 ¾" barrel. This gun is excellent as expertly refinished. The refinish looks to have been done long ago. The grips show a fair amount of carry use. Action works well and locks up tight. The 1888 model is a transition between an 1875 model and an 1890 model. The main way to tell the difference is the barrel address is the same as the 1875 model with “E. Remington & Sons……" instead of that of the 1890 model which reads “Remington & Sons….." Very nice scarce gun!
