Engraved EUROPEAN Antique .60 Caliber Flintlock CAVALRY PIRATE HORSE Pistol
Circa Late 1700s to Early 1800s
Here we present an antique likely European Flintlock Heavy Cavalry Holster Pistol, made circa the late 1700s to early 1800s. Like the cavalry pistols from nations such as Britain and France, this was a large, single shot pistol with a brass pommel that could be used as a club when the single shot was expended.
The overall condition is rough. The action has spring tension and a half- and full-cock but the trigger does not release the cock. The bore is smooth and oxidized. The stock has some worming throughout and a chip at the pommel. A good one for display!
