Description:
Another “ESTATE” firearm listing brought to you from Dust 2 Dollars who pride themselves on showing the complete gun in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration.

We offer you a “RARE” Otto Bock (Berlin) Drilling chambered in 12 x 12 / 10.5 mm with steel barrels and engraved game scenes from the 1920’s.

Otto Bock was well known Berlin based gun maker in the late 1800's into the first part of the 20th century. He was an engineer as well as a master gunsmith and held the title of "ROYAL COURT SUPPLIER" which is a very high compliment to the guns he sold. This drilling is one of the few you see that has been offered for sale in the last several years.
The barrels and stocks were restored at some time in the past with the receiver being silver in color. The barrels are 26 7/8” in length. The shotgun bores are bright and very fine with very light rough areas ahead of the chambers. The rifle barrel shows frosting with minor pitting the full length. We believe it is chambered for the 10.3x65mm Rimmed Baenziger cartridge, but a chamber cast would need to be done to confirm that. The finish on the barrels is in very fine condition and shows some small pitting spots scattered on the barrels. The rear of the barrels across the chambers is marked "PRIMA KRUPP’ SCHER GUSS STAHL". Prima Kruppscher Guss-Stahl means "first class cast steel by Krupp” and describes the barrel steel by the most renowned German steelworks. The rib is marked and Gold filled which reads “Otto Bock Berlin, Königl, Hoflieferant". The receiver shows a fox with a duck or goose on the left side. The right is a hound and stag as shown. The full length trigger guard is “horn” and is in excellent condition as is the grip cap. The rifle selector switch is on the right side on the front of the guard as shown. Once rotated the rear rifle sight pops up and the front trigger is activated. That trigger is an adjustable set trigger at that point. The forearm is in excellent condition with no issues and serial numbered to the gun. The butt stock is also in excellent condition with a L.O.P of 14 ¼” over the modern pad. I suspect the original butt plate might have been horn that succumbed to 100 years of use or appetite by insects. The gun functions as it should and is tight on the face.
