Description:
ON HOLD

An exceptional example of an early wide grip Savage Model 1917 .32acp pistol.  The Savage semi-automatic pistols produced in the period 1905 - 1928 are some of the most interesting and attractive handguns of their period.   They feature an unusual semi-delayed blow back action and exhibit excellent form and quality. Consequently there is a lot of collector interest in these neat pistols.

This Savage was produced in 1920 and features the excellent original blued finish of early examples of this model - this one produced in 1920.

In terms of condition this Savage 1917 is easy to describe, it is excellent and original in all respects. The pistol retains 98% strong original blued finish with a few tiny age spots….there is no high edge wear, no muzzle wear, no gripstrap wear, no use/carry wear at all. The bore and mechanical functions are excellent. The trigger retains all its strong casehardened finish and the grips are excellent.  This Savage pistol appears to have spent its life untouched in a bureau drawer.

This Savage Model 1917 is an exceptional example of its type suitable for any high condition collection. It would be pretty difficult to up-grade this one.
