Description:
This is a WW2 Winchester M1 Garand that was purchased from the CMP is 2012. At that time, it had a Springfield barrel on it, dated 9/50. It has a Winchester bolt and otherwise mostly SA parts. The owner somehow found a very rare Winchester barrel dated 7/67. Winchester made a very limited run of Garand barrels that year to support military rebuild efforts. This was installed on the gun. Then a nice complete CMP stock set was purchased, and a reciprocating weight was installed in the buttstock to reduce felt recoil, and a rubber Kick EEZ butt pad put on. This is the gun as you see it in the pictures. Coming with the gun in the purchase will be the SA/50 barrel that was on it from the CMP, and another complete GI stock set that presumably again was on the gun when it was bought from the CMP. The nice stock set in the pics has the CMP cartouche. The original stock set has no readable cartouche other than the remains of the P in a circle on the inside of the pistol grip. Winchester Garands are very desirable, and their value goes nowhere but up. The barrel is as rare as hen's teeth, I've never seen one before. The Win barrel is strong and bright, but could use a solid cleaning. I do not have TE or ME gauges here. The SA barrel is strong and bright as well. $65 shipping to the lower 48, 3% surcharge for using a CC.
