Description:
Gun barrels for the Colt 1851 Navy replica in .36 cal. manufactured by High Standard of Camden, CT. This listing will start with eleven barrels. These barrels vary in configuration and condition. No ramrod, wedge, screws or other related components are included. These items left the factory as parts after High Standard ceased production and have never been mounted on a gun and consequently have never been fired. All barrels measure 7 ½-inches and have “ AMERICAN BICENTENNIAL 1776 1976” stamped on the top octagon flats. All barrels have “HIGH STANDARD CAMDEN CT U.S.A.” stamped on the right side of the barrel. Nine of these barrels have the American Liberty Bell engraved on the left side of the barrel. Three barrels have front sights the others have the hole for the sight but no sight post is present. The bluing on these items is excellent – deep, dark and shiny. All barrels had surface rust, in varying amounts, from poor storage. All rust has been removed. All bores are excellent. Although the photos seem to show pitting, there is no pitting; these are areas where the finish had been cleaned. A picture of the barrel in the worst condition is provided. These items will require custom fitting to be mounted on guns manufactured by Colt or other makers. The base pin hole will have to expanded slightly to enable mounting on guns manufactured by Colt, Uberti, Pietta and likely all others. I’ve listed these items for a friend. He is open to offers/shipped for more than one barrel. Individually, the barrels will be shipped for $55 each. This will be a first come sale where the items available in the best condition will be sold first and so on until all are gone.
