This Wonderful piece of our History Presents In Very Good Condition is this unmarked 1860 Cavalry saber with the Regimental number 4 stenciled prominently on the Original scabbard.. This magnificent artifact along with the Heroic 4th Pennsylvania cavalry has fought in most if not all the major battles of the Civil War including the Peninsula Campaign, Antietam, Gettysburg and The Wilderness just to name a few. This magnificent Artifact is a Battlefield pick up which happens more than one might believe as in the heat of the fight weapons were lost broken or damaged a good deal of the time. Along with the saber is an original scabbard in very good condition with the usual amount of scattered denting and this particular piece is missing it's mouth, but has done it's job wonderfully as there is no damage to the weapon. This is an excellent opportunity for novice or experienced collector to own the Genuine article from a Heroic Regiment and you won't have to spend the usual fortune that normally accompanies these types of items, this beauty will make for a wonderful display.
