Napoleonic Wars Era Dragoon Weapon
Here we present an antique French Model AN 9 Cavalry Musketoon, manufactured circa the early-1800s in Liege, Belgium. This was a shorter weapon than the infantry used, geared toward those on horseback. It still shares the basic design of the AN 9 infantry musket and has a mixture of brass and steel hardware. Liege has been a weapons making center of the world for centuries and this was probably made for the French in the Napoleonic Wars period.
The overall condition is good. The action does not fully function. (The hammer will not fully cock). Good bore. Solid stock. “Pease” is light hand inscribed on the right buttstock. Liege proofed barrel. Here is an interesting rifle for the collection!
