Spur Trigger with Walnut Grips!
Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Revolver, made circa 1860 in Worcester, Massachusetts. There we 8 different variants of this revolver made between 1858 and 1865, and only 1,500 are thought to have been made total, making this a very scarce little revolver. The most immediately eye-catching feature on this revolver is the side-mounted hammer on the right side of the gun. This little spur trigger features a 6-shot cylinder and no evidence of a cylinder scene. Marked on the left side flat of the octagon barrel is “ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCESTER MS.US/ALLEN’S PATENTS SEPT.7 NOV.9 1858” and on the left side of the frame forward of the cylinder is marked “JULY 3 1860”.
The overall condition is very good. Gray patina throughout. The action is excellent. The bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling. The grips are solid and show some period wear.
