On the card whenever we bought this rifle, it states that it is all original, never cut, no repairs, set triggers, excellent rifling in the circa 1863. I am not totally sure about the information on the card. The barrel length is approximately 39 1/8 inches and the overall length of the rifle is 56 inches. It is an 44 caliber or there abouts with an octagon barrel. The Top of the barrel is signed Steinmetz & Justice, Philada. The lock is engraved with birds and ferns on the lockplate. The double set trigger does not function properly. If you remove the lock, from the rifle, the lock functions properly out of the gun. Excellent rifling! Phillip Justice also had civil war contracts for edged weapons - see Gunsmiths and Gunmakers of Eastern PA by Chandler and Whiskers.
