A Beautifully Superb Deane Adams & Deane  “jug choked “
percussion double barreled shotgun, serial number 999. The top of the barrel is engraved, “Deane, Adams & Deane, Makers to HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS Prince Albert, No. 30 King William Street London Bridge.” The gun is 12 gauge, and is extraordinarily light. It has a light colored stock with a beautiful grain, checkered at wrist and on the forend. The steel mounts are all finely engraved with a setter engraved on the trigger bow. The barrels are Damascus patterned. There is a gold shield shaped escutcheon plate with the letters “CS” engraved on it. The lock plates are also engraved with a hunting scene on each lock. They are also engraved “Deane, Adams & Deane. Even the hammers are covered with very fine engraving. Yes! The Adams in Deane, Adams & Deane was the same man as in the Adams revolver. This gun was certainly made prior to 1861, when Prince Albert died. Dimensions: 46.5 inches long overall. Some buy quality, Some by History. Here is an opportunity to have both in one magnificent Firearm.    Condition: Very good condition overall, with an excellent and superbly grained stock & Clean Bore.

Additional Info From Shotgun Expert; It is marked 14 gauge. However the barrels have been expertly honed out to a 12 gauge. I say expertly because of how clean they are and the fact that there is still plenty barrel wall thickness as measured. Thia beauty is also JUG CHOKED which will increase pattern and performance. Del $35 anywhere in the lower 48. Tax included.
