Description:
Germanic Antique Large Smoothbore Musket by GEBRUDER LINDENSCHMIT of Mainz

.72 Caliber Single Shot Rifle w Single Set Trigger

Here we present an antique Germanic Smoothbore Musket by Gebruder Lindenschmit of Mainz, made circa the early-19th century. This short musket was intended for large game. It has a gaping .72 caliber bore, twist octagonal barrel. The breech end is banded in gold and perhaps platinum. The stock has nice grain. The lock is maker marked. The trigger guard is carved wood. Single set trigger. Liege proofed barrel (makers in Liege frequently sold their barrels to makers outside the country).

The overall condition is rough. The action is functional. The single set trigger must be set for the hammer to hold the cocked position. The smooth bore is dark and a little rough. The barrel wedge has been replaced just to keep the two pieces together. No ramrod.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 29 inches.

Caliber: .72 Percussion

Overall condition as seen in photos.
