Description:
This is a great example of the WWII Colt 1911A1 pistol. Manufactured in 1942 with "P" proof marks on slide and frame and "WB" inspector stamp. Also stamped "United States Property" and "M1911A1 US Army", with a serial number of 757334. Original parkerized finish in +/- 90% overall condition. Clean bore with sharp lands and grooves. Has the usual "takedown lever finish wear", and some small dings near the bottom of the grip front strap (show up much more prominently in the the photos than they do in person). Price includes a magazine, which is probably not original to the gun (no markings), and a Boyt "US" stamped holster dated 1944. At some point in it's life (many years ago judging by the wear) front "show" side of the holster (which was originally brown/tan) was dyed black...probably with boot black. Have no idea why or when this was done. All in all, a really nice piece for any collector of Colt handguns or WWII firearms.
