This is a guaranteed original Springfield Trapdoor carbine in 45-70cal, not a cut down rifle, I would be happy to give a potential buyer a lecture on how to tell a converted rifle from an original carbine. Very good overall condition, with some minor handling marks in stock but no cracks or chips present. There are two crips arsenal cartouches in the wood. Metal shows a decent amount of original blue turning to patina on the barrel and trigger guard. Breech block still has traces of original case hardening colors. Bore is shiny with very good rifling, no rust or pitting. Action is crisp and tight. The gun has a correct trap door butt plate that stores an original issue 3 piece cleaning rod ( alone worth at least $ 250 if you look them up online)Insured shipping in the Cont US is $ 50.00.
