Description:
A rare find in mostly original condition with very clean bores and tight mechanicals. This is a mid-grade gun with 28" steel BP shotgun barrel with 2 1/2" chamber, .735/.694 (F) choke, dates to 1892 (lettered) with Greener's patented "self acting" ejectors, rib bearing a 3 leaf express sight and the Haymarket (London) address. Action has arcaded fences, GCB and side-safety (of course), scallops, and good screws. Damascus rifle barrel is chambered for the 500/450 BPE No. 1 cartridge, although the action also bears a 1914 Austrian (Vienna) nitro proof mark. The 100 and 300 yard leafs have been modified accordingly. Stocks are original with original checkering, LOP 13 3/4" thru replacement buttplate, drops 1 7/8" and 2 1/2" with 1/4" cast off, buttstock is refinished. 8 1/2"lb. Narrow sling swivels and silver oval with fancy initials. Elk/grouse gun for the iconoclast.
