Description:
These pistols show very fine engraving and finely checkered walnut stocks with compartments in the butts one of which contains an original ramrod. The actions work perfectly and the barrels are smoothbore in excellent condition .Both pistols are a grey color with light patina.
The checkered walnut stocks are excellent and have not been cleaned or refinished. They are each British proofed  on the lower barrels.
Alexander John Forsyth was in business in London from 1808 to 1852. He invented and patented the first  percussion lock in 1807. This was a very important development in the evolution of firearms.
