Made in much fewer numbers than the popular Hawken series of rifles, the Seneca was based on a New England light sporter. They were made in .36 caliber and .45 caliber. The .45 is the most versatile which can be used with a .440" patched round ball and a light/modest powder charge for target, plinking or small game, while it can also be loaded with a T-C "Maxi Ball" and a heavy charge of black powder to take most big game species. Nicely figured walnut stock, adjustable double set triggers, brass furniture and patch box and adjustable rear sight are all standard features on these attractive Made in America rifles. I've been shooting mine since I bought it new in the 1970s! These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and this one is like new overall. I'd rather have one of these than any similar muzzle loader made in Italy that would cost more money than this.
