This beatiful Belgian maderifle has only a safe mark or two with respect to dings or scratches meaning virtually none.
Some of these Browning Safaris were made by Browning on FN Actions and some on Sako Actions; this is a Sako Action
It honeslty appears to have not been fired (examination of the bolt face), almost completly free of handling marks
The gold on the factory engraved floor plate and trigger guard is 100% showing no evidence of having been carried.
As a 1969 gun there is evidence of salt damage visible (not deep or profound) at the "waterline" where the forend wood meets the barrel.
We have provided pictures of these areas and happy to provide additional ones upon request. This will not get worse, meaning whatever has occoured during the 50 + yrs since it left the factory will not likely change at this point. We have not taken the stock off the gun: the screws are perfect and we are not going to put a screw driver in them. It is being sold as is and may not be returned referring to this minor cosmetic issue.
The factory gold engraving on the floor plate shows no wear or evidence of handling or being carried.
To any who are unfamiliar with Brownings use of salt to cure their stocks during the late 1960's and early 1970's we can explain.
We have owned many in our own collection with minor salt and it was not troublesome...
The blue and stock finish are otherwise pretty much as new. Front site hood is still in place
The Redfield (leupold type) one piece scope base comes with the rifle and came to us this way without a scope howvrer we have many excellent used scope; some period correct and others modern including many Leupolds (modern) and period correct Redifelds and Weaverss
